SUPPORT FOR GUN-CONTROL AT ALL-TIME LOWS

According to a recent Gallup poll, only 29 percent of Americans said the possession of handguns by private citizens should be banned, which is the smallest percentage favoring a handgun ban since Gallup first polled on this nearly 50 years ago.

In another survey, Gallup found that Americans favoring stricter gun laws was at 49 percent, the lowest percentage since the question was first asked in 1990.
